Definitions of banner positions:
Carousel; Each banner position on a page consists of a 'carousel' holding 5 banners. The carousel is rotated once each time the web page is loaded, so each banner is seen once every 5 page loads.
Slots; The 5 bays or 'slots' in each carousel each hold one banner, and the 'slot' price is the cost to carry a banner in one slot. If an advertiser wants the whole banner position exclusively, he can take 5 slots for the same banner - this will cost the 'carousel' price, i.e. slot price X 5. Clearly one can take any number of slots between 1 and 5.
