Road link to CBD

Crafty road link to CBD

THE new R15-million road connecting Mondi to the Richards Bay CBD via Alton will open ‘any day now’.
Named ‘Kraft Link’, the road is a special bonus for Mondi employees who can literally leave the company’s gates and join the flow of traffic at the Ceramic Curve intersection opposite the landfill site.

At present, employees have an agonising wait at the Mondi robots on the John Ross Highway.
‘I suspect those going to Empangeni might even find it quicker and less stressful to take the new road, turn right at the landfill site and right again at the John Ross Highway,’ said Deputy City Engineer - Bert Kirsten.
He said that final power supplies and robot connections were all that were needed before the road is officially opened ‘within a week or so’.
